Falkland's broken Sword and Spur

On the 27th of April 1909, Miss Marjorie chained herself to this statue of Falkland as part of a demonstration calling for votes for women. To release her it proved necessary to break Falkland's sword and the spur on his right boot. The damage caused can still be seen today.
