Seats of the Doorkeepers [ Play
Narrated and Animated Movie ! ] While the Commons are in session the two chairs on either side of the entrance are occupied by Doorkeepers. The right-hand seat, which is that of the Principal Doorkeeper, contains the mechanism for activating the original Division Bell, which summoned Members back to the Chamber to vote when a division was called. Nowadays the division bell is an electronic device; but every night, when the House of Commons has finished work for the day, this is still the bell which is rung; after which the Doorkeeper calls out the ancient formula: "Who Goes Home?"
