The tiles at the back of the fireplace are Minton, in designs which are to be found elsewhere in the Palace. The fireback of cast iron is decorated with Tudor roses, while the fire dogs of iron and brass show lions and Tudor roses topped with brass finials whose design is based on poppy headed pew ends from Medieval churches.

The chimney piece is of carved stone, and the surround is made up of boldly carved bosses with the symbols and mottoes of England, Scotland and Ireland. Advanced Category Search
