Narrated and Animated Movie ! ] The floor, designed by Pugin, and carried out by Minton, is of encaustic tiling. The central motif is made up of various symbols of the nations of Britain, including leopards, shamrocks, thistles, harps and Tudor Roses. Around them runs a Latin inscription from psalm 127: 'Except the Lord build the House, their labour is but lost that build it'. Around the base of the walls runs the familiar Latin inscription asking for God to save Queen Victoria.
